In this video I troubleshoot a heated windshield issue on a Ford C-Max that stopped working properly.
I go step by step through the diagnostic process:
- Checking fuses
- Swapping and testing relays
- Verifying the ground point for the heated windshield
- Measuring voltage on the positive supply connections
- Using an infrared thermal camera to see which parts of the windshield are heating and which are not
Electrically, everything checks out as it should, but the thermal image tells a different story. In the end, the conclusion is that the fault is inside the windshield itself, meaning it’s not repairable at component or wiring level.
Interestingly, the windshield was eventually replaced almost two years later, but only because it cracked — not because of the heating issue.
