Easily my favorite Autoreach I have filmed in the past 3 years. Its a first generation model from the late 90s with the skinny, rounded off body (by far my favorite model). The arm may be slow, but its so smooth that its actually really enjoyable to watch IMO. He also uses the swivel feature to help settle some of the materials in the hopper. These older bodies never seemed to pack a large input of materials too well. And when its bushy greenwaste, its just that much harder. And the fact that he revvs a little is really neat too, as its not too common to see an Autoreach revv. Sounded pretty cool in the process. However this is now the last Ford ASL they use. The Ford Rapid Rails are now out of service. But I assure you, this is not the only Ford we filmed from them, as some of you may know if you have seen Scotts recent video.
This company was an all Ford hauler until Ford got out of the truck business some time in early 2000s I believe. Bit of a bummer that Ford stopped making trucks, but at least we got a few of their last Fords on film. This being a Ford CF8000 Cargo. Very unusual in the refuse industry, and as an automated truck especially.
I added the early morning shot to the end of the video in case some of you would enjoy it. Otherwise, its really hard to see. My camera is really sensitive to light I guess. The time between that really dark footage to the rest of the video was only 10 minutes. And in that 10 minutes, it looked like an hour had passed on my camera.
Big thanks to the driver of this truck, and all the others we met. All were great for allowing us to get some video. And thanks to the whole company too for having some neat trucks :D
