A misty morning full of birdsong is a lovely time to search for wood ears. Also known as jelly ears, this easily identified fungus grows on elder trees and is a delicious addition to Oriental inspired cooking. As well as mushroom hunting I'll also be checking out the nettles and harvesting some burdock shoots. Happy hedge-bothering!
