Paul McCartney originally played this track on a Bluthner Model One Concert Grand Piano with newspaper placed under the hammers. I matched the sustain/mute of each string to get a similar sound to what you hear on the record. The lower notes seemed muted but not buzzy, for these I decided to put a strip of masking tape across the bottom strings. During the break before the Lap Steel solo, Paul comes back in with two low A octaves, these have quite a bit of buzz.
