In 1959, strict censorship codes banned men from dressing as women on screen. But director Billy Wilder found a loophole: make it part of the story.
Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon go undercover in drag to escape the mob, and it works. The film turns "forbidden" into comedy gold.
The result? Not just a hit, Some Like It Hot was later named the greatest comedy of all time by the American Film Institute.
