UK Parliament | Football governance: Premier League and EFL – Culture, Media and Sport Committee @ukparliament | Uploaded 8 months ago | Updated 12 hours ago
The Culture, Media and Sport Committee are questioning Richard Masters, the chief executive of the Premier League, and the English Football League’s chairman Rick Parry on the latest on a financial agreement between the top of English football and the rest of the football pyramid.

The Committee are seeking to understand reasons for the delay in an agreement between the Premier League and English Football League to redistribute funds between across the football pyramid, after reports in December of a stalemate between the two parties. Questions could also be asked on the Premier League’s position on parachute payments as a form of financial distribution, and the implications of ‘no deal’ on EFL clubs.

MPs are also likely to ask about the new independent football regulator, which was announced by the Government recently, and can act on issues of financial regulation compliance, and what roles its impending introduction has played in holding a financial agreement back.
