The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Food Services Unit is responsible for providing quality food to the county’s entire inmate population, Department staff, outside agencies, patrol stations, court lock-ups and contract city jails. In order to take on this tremendous task, we have five industrial sized kitchens throughout the jail system that prepare a staggering average of more than 70,000 meals per day.
