The dark turn of Daenerys Targaryen was one of the most confusing and controversial aspects of the end of Game of Thrones. However, despite all of the odd plot points that the show introduced to explain why Dany would destroy King's Landing, the TV series as well as A Song of Ice and Fire introduced one simple and obvious reason as to why Daenerys Targaryen's invasion of Westeros was always doomed to fail. But why is food so important in the World of Ice and Fire, and why does it make Dany such an obviously bad leader?
