Following the Roots is an Indonesian documentary from GLFx Java that tells the story of how farmers in Padasenang Village are restoring their degraded land by learning from their neighbors in Cipeuteuy, a community with more than 20 years of agroforestry and social forestry experience.

Through peer-to-peer learning, young foresters, farmers, and community leaders come together to revive soil, strengthen livelihoods, and rebuild trust in the land. The film showcases how community knowledge and collective action can drive long-term, sustainable restoration.

Directed by Faizal Aziz, this nine-minute film was produced by the Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) and GLFx Java with support from regional and international partners.

Supported by:
Patera Foundation • Lembaga Alam Tropika Indonesia • IMFN • Government of Canada • CIFOR-ICRAF
