In retrospect making this video was a big turning point for me as a writer. Earlier drafts of the script leaned much more on performative shock at the weirdness and general inscrutability of the movie, but the more I worked on it, the more times I sat through the movie looking for clips and things to talk about, the more I started to see End of Evangelion not just as an extension of a show that I enjoyed, but as the legitimately brilliant and impacting film that it is.
