Team 0%. Not that it matters, because we won't be able to clear all 2016 levels before SMM2 comes out. I usually avoid playing levels with setups as jank as the one in the first section. But I wanted to give this a shot. After a few hours practicing I was able to become somewhat consistent at the first part, like I was able to get it like 10% of the time. Jebaited
The midair at 0:23 was one of the hardest parts of the level for me, because it's intended to do an L tap, which I just don't know how to do, I've only done them accidentally. So I had to turn to the right, and then do a quick midair input, and sometimes I wasn't able to make it to the door because I didn't have enough momentum.
I cheesed the last section, I didn't feel like practicing the bomb juggling, and the cheese was too obvious there I don't know how JC missed it, so I had to use it. I had 3 dumb nais, which I guess is my punishment for cheesing, but I'll take it.

2 days ago ryu uploaded his final SMM1 level. Playing it reminded me a lot of his old DTFP levels, which got deleted a while ago. Some people probably reported them because of the titles. First one was called Donald Trump For President and the second one was Make America Great Again (DTFP2). They were okay for a while, but shortly after ryu uploaded his video called What is a Trump Jump? they got taken down. It was pretty weird because to this day, his other DTFP levels, which had similar titles, never got deleted.
When I got my capture card, I was excited to make a video with all 5 DTFP levels, sadly I was not able to. He thought about reuploading DTFP 1 and 2, so I had a little bit of hope, but that never happened. So after I played his final level, I decided to do it myself. I asked him if he would let me upload a level with both DTFP 1 and 2 in it, because I thought uploading them separately would be too easy, and he allowed it. So here it is. It was still easier than expected, it only took 2 hours to beat, recreating the level took longer, because all I had was other peoples clear videos to use as reference. I made sure everything was recreated perfectly, even some small aesthetic details most people wont notice. Well... As you may know, I like to add silly things at the end of a level. I added an extra trump jump after the the DTFP2 section. And one last stupid obstacle right before the goal. But other than that, Id say these are some pretty good recreations. And even having the two levels together, Id say theyre still easier than any Finchs RO levels.

Short level which is harder than it looks. Someone asked me how to do it, so I decided to upload this clear video cause I wasnt sure how to explain it. After that I recorded an attempt where I didnt do the intended route just to show that its not possible without it. Because the way to beat it requires a weird trick called corner boosting, which works better in this game because Nintedo pretty much patched out wall clips.
It is barely noticeable in the video so you might have to slow it down to see, but if you jump in just the right place below blocks its possible to get a small boost from the corner of it. You have to do it 3 times in this level and the third time is specially difficult because you have to do perfect stairs right after it. I kept jumping too high from the stairs though so even if I jumped on the frame I landed Id be too far to the right and would hit the piranha, thankfully when I finally stopped doing that I only failed the final jump once. And I had a random time out, but I believe it was because I landed on the slope at the beginning.
It was pretty crazy that this level went from like 2/25,000 to like 2/150,000 at some point. That was almost a month ago though, now it has over 10 clears and over 700,000 attempts, and it will probably have more later on. This is most likely due to people not knowing the tech and thinking the level looks easy. But even if you know the tech it can take a while to beat this.

As celebration for Pokémon Day (on February 27), I uploaded 4 new Pokémon trainer battle levels in SMM1, and Im posting all their clear videos this week. This is the second one, and its a little bit harder than Blaine Battle, which was on my previous video.
I really like how half of it is underwater just like in Misty Battle, which I uploaded 2 years ago. But because of my self-imposed rule of not using repeats, this level made me wish I didnt make Misty Battle, just so I would have been able to include Gyarados here. Looking back at it, Gyarados and Starmie are the only cool parts of Misty Battle, while the rest seems like filler, and by filler I mean that theyre not as interesting to watch as those two. Plus having Vaporeon in Misty Battle is part of the reason I had to include Jolteon in Blaine Battle, which obviously looks out of place. Then again, if Gyarados and Kingdra were both in the same level, the item swimming could get too repetitive, so maybe this outcome is not as bad as I thought. Also if I didnt make Green Battle I could have included Dragonite too, but I dont regret making that one because Green is cool.
Anyway, because of the lack of key coins, here are the changes I had to make for some of the setups to replicate what they were like in the original levels:
In Dragonair I put a pow block in the first R, I put a p-switch in the N and block with a bomb in the i, all of which you need to hit to progress in the level.
In Ampharos I put a chain chomp over the P, which can actually kill you even after you hit the block below it, so you may have to be careful and wait a cycle before you run under it. I added a note block with a p-switch you need in the O, actually I dont know why I put it in a note block, but better be safe than sorry, I guess. And I put a pow block in the second A to kill the muncher.
In Crobat I put a question block on the C, which contains a p-switch that lets you get the coin in the R, and I put a pow block on the B that kills the piranhas on the A and the T.
In Lapras I had to put saws everywhere to make sure you couldnt take the buzzy beetle everywhere, the original level was SMB1 style so this wasnt an issue because Mario cant hold items there. I had to change the blooper in the L I had to a piranha because SMB3 bloopers are not as tall as SMB1 bloopers. I put a muncher in the note block in the A that, when released, it causes the bomb to blow up a pow block that opens up the path. I put piranhas on top of the R to prevent the player from taking the shell out and I put another piranha on top of the A that you kill by hitting the question block. At the end theres a contraption that the shell has to go into to get the key... Yeah, thats a lot of changes just on Lapras, it probably seems simple, but coming up with all of them while also making sure the letters were still readable made Clair Battle take longer to create than it took to beat, which was still a long time, but it was a nice change of pace.
Finally Kingdra is basically the same as the original, yay.
In this level Crobat is the odd one out. Clair has never used a Crobat in any game. Why is it here? I dont know, other options were Gyarados, Dragonite, Charizard, Nidoking, Rhydon and Arcanine, all of which I had already included in other trainer battle levels. The only option I had left was Aerodactyl, which I thought was too easy, so I put Crobat, basically the same reason why Magmar wasnt in Blaine Battle. So this level could have been even better, but I still like how it turned out, and playing it after so much SMM2 it reminded me how big the top and bottom of spike hitboxes were in SMM1 water levels, entering the P in Lapras killed me so many times.

I dont know why but I like making small trolls like that. Anyway, about the level. It was uploaded on day 3 of the game, when I wasnt yet comfortable with the new physics and my controller so I left this level for later. Waited an entire month, because Ive been grinding for achievements and stuff, not really practicing like I did with the RO series. Basically I was lazy cause I knew this level was going to take me a while at the time.
I definitely didnt need to wait a month, but honestly it would have been much longer if it wasnt for the server maintenance that kept happening on that last week of July. So on a night it was happening I finally decided to recreate this level to practice it. Thankfully its short and the setups arent complicated, so it was a fast process. Most of my deaths happened at the very beginning, getting the first 4 coins is really hard. The rest of the level gets much easier, except for the last jump because its offscreen. I had 6 nais.
