FMS 64mm J-10 EDF Unbox, Build and Fly
In this video I will go over the FMS 64mm J-10 electric ducted fan (EDF) radio control model airplane, to include an unbox, build and test flight.
The FMS J-10 is a very complete almost ready to fly RC model airplane. You will need three items to complete this model, those being a 6 channel receiver, a transmitter and a four cell lipo battery. In addition if you fly outside of an FAA Recognized Identification Area (FRIA) you'll need a remote ID module.
The FMS J-10 assembles quickly. I build mine in less than an hour. You will need some 5 minute epoxy to glue in some surfaces such as the vertical fin, ventral fins and the forward canards.
Everything else is installed (motor, ducted fan, electronic speed control and all servos. The forward canards are fixed (they do not move) and the delta wing uses elevons for control. There are no separate ailerons and elevators. Reverse engine thrust is included with the ESC as well.
The J-10 has plenty of thrust. Control response is crisp with about 0.5" of elevon up and down throw. The jet flies and handles very well, but it is speedy. In short, a lot of fun to fly.
