You asked for it and you got it! Its been quite a while since weve done a classic FT overview on a model aircraft. That all changes with our overview of the Flex innovations 2.2 m twin otter. Flex innovation has been a long time, friend and collaborator with Flite Test. Designed by world champion pilot Quique Somenzini, the Flex Innovations Twin Otter is capable of incredibly slow speeds all the way up to mine bending 3-D aerobatics. Today we unboxed, build, and fly this amazing monster size twin motor powerhouse to get a first experience from Josh Bixler and then hand the controls over to his youngest son Mike for a from a 3-D aerobatic pilot. After that, the team hands the controls to Dave Jester to take up and fly during the solar eclipse.
This aircraft has been a source of inspiration for the entire FT team for quite some time. Dave Jester is currently designing a DIY foam version of the twin otter and our goal is to learn from this experience and adapt the our new foam board Twin Otter to be a steppingstone both in capabilities And characteristics to allow people to grow into this magnificent aircraft.
