![1H30 of European N.E.S. music (compilation)
[TRACK LIST IN DESCRIPTION]
This compilation showcases the very special style of composition most Europeans composers had, being influenced by machines like the C64 (among others).
The main characteristic of European chiptune is the faked chords (actually really fast arpeggios) used in one of the two squarewaves channels to prop the melody or to creates some nice audio effects.
You hardly find this type of effect in Japanese NES music.
One other commonly used trick is the triangle kick, a way to emphasize the sound of the drums kicks by using at the same time the noise channel and the triangle wave channel to create punchy drums sounds.
Note that this trick was also used by Japanese composer Naoki Kodaka (Sunsoft).
