We have an update on Nyah’s move to Australia!
In late April, five-year-old rhinoceros Nyah travelled via plane and by road to her new home at Werribee Open Range Zoo in Victoria.
Her relocation, as part of the Australasian breeding and advocacy programme for Southern white rhinoceros, went without a hitch due to months of incredible preparation by our ungulates team and keeper Jess, ensuring Nyah was safe and comfortable in her travel crate.
Watch as we follow Nyah’s travel to Auckland Airport and her introduction to the herd and habitat at Werribee. In future, she’ll be paired with a male rhino – and it’s our hope she’ll go on to have calves of her own!
