Crowne Prince | Fly Away MAP Intro Process @CrownePrince | Uploaded September 2017 | Updated October 2024, 3 days ago.
I wanted to try making a Toon Boom animation with a minimalist watercolor style. This video shows the process from draft to final. The only thing not included are the first character sketches and the storyboards.
My original plan was to do only the absolutely necessary lines for the dancer, but I felt my tests looked too childish/cave painting like. I style tested a more detailed person and that was the final look I went for.
I intended all of the papers to be images of the other MAP parts, but when I tested the way it looked, it was an awful barf of colors. So... plain white it is.
