Comet 107 | Flush and Seamless Honey Block Piston Door [115 x 240] [1.15] @comet1072 | Uploaded 4 years ago | Updated 1 hour ago
Today I present minecraft's biggest flush and seamless piston door, using the new honey block in minecraft. There already exist some giant honey block piston doors, including the one that I made a week ago, but all doors so far are not seamless. Making the door seamless required a few additional parts, including a 5-wide expandable trapdoor, and pistons on the sides of the frame.
This video was a bit... experimental, with some 'weird' music and just a little different from normal. I hope you still enjoyed it though.
1.15 is pretty laggy, and you might be wondering how I managed to film the piston doors without too many rendering issues. The trick I used was carpet mod. Carpet mod allows you to alter the speed of the game. If you record a door when it is running at 5tps (4x slower than normal) and then speed the footage up, it looks waaay smoother. However, this does not work for all sizes. The biggest piston door was so laggy that I needed to pause the game completely to let the rendering engine catch up. I took 60 screenshots during the opening and closing of the door, which created the timelapse at the end of the video.
