In a unique chapter of boxing history, Olympic gold medalist Pete Rademacher made his professional debut by immediately challenging World Heavyweight Champion Floyd Patterson—a bout only previously imagined in sports fiction.

The fight took place on August 22, 1957, at Sicks' Stadium, Seattle. Rademacher stunned fans by knocking down the champion in the 2nd round, nearly achieving the unthinkable. However, Patterson recovered and dominated the final rounds, knocking Rademacher down a total of seven times before winning by KO in the 6th round.
