Kits for This Joyous Season are coming in January, although the initial run will be limited
Plum Street Samplers' This Joyous Season, stitched on Legacy Linen 38 count Irish Coffee with the following:
Gobelins: 2541, 2636, 2644, 2912, 2915, 4532, 4535
100/3: 491, 572, 616, 624, 677, 707, 741
Soie Surfine Blanc with Accentuate 312
You could also work the snow in a lower coverage stitch such as T stitch, which was suggested by a commenter, Jill Bennett, who also shared a video tutorial: youtube.com/watch?v=iMcwEOB7B6I
Prairie Schooler Santa's Night ornament, worked on Legacy Linen 38 count Himalayan Fog with the following threads:
Soie Surfine 2631 w/ Accentuate 015 (sparkle reds)
100/3 Blanc with Accentuate 312 (sparkle whites)
Gobelins 945, blanc
100/3 088, 628, 663 (inactive, sub 050), 707
Embellished with 4mm crystal briolettes, stitched on at 1/2 inch intervals
You can get briolettes here: artbeads.com/jewelry-supplies/prestige-crystal-5040-4mm-briolette-bead-crystal-5040-crys4
Brenda Gervais When Santa's Away, stitched on Legacy Linen 45 count Foxtail Millet
Soie Surfine: 2303, 2335, 2494, 2572, 2659, 2681, 2735, 2773, blanc
Gobelins Blanc in Alternating Oblong Cross, as seen in Jo Ippolito Christensen's The Needlepoint Book: amazon.com/Needlepoint-Book-Complete-Update-Classic/dp/0684832305
I worked the crosses slightly differently from the diagram, going up four threads and over two for a rectangle to better fit the shape of the boot top. If you're stitching on a 36+ count you could try Soie Perlee in Blanc to give a more textured effect in Alternating Oblong Cross
The colors in 100/3:
303, 335, 494, 572 , 659, 681, 735, 773, blanc
The numbering system and how the threads differ is explained fully in my specialty thread tutorial part I, as mentioned by Brenda and Laura this weekend: youtube.com/watch?v=F3QVmH2XgPQ&t=188s
You can see my friend's finish of When Santa's Away on 38 count in episode 34: youtube.com/watch?v=qakoj3kyShw
When Santa's Away was finished following Vonna's tutorial for a round flat ornament, but using a rectangle that was heavily padded with felt on the front: youtube.com/watch?v=mzCfPccMkW8&t=444s
And it will be trimmed with my beaded spiral rope stitch: youtube.com/watch?v=BgQMzVs3wPk&t=6s
