On today's adventure into south Florida, we're gonna be taking a look at one of the prettiest snake that lives in the Florida Everglades, the scarlet snake!
Join Cajun Boy (Zachary Gray) as we get up close with Florida's most common tricolored snake species, and see just why these snakes are so special! As always we hope y'all enjoy this video! :D
Scarlet snakes are a particularly illusive snake species found throughout the USA, but the Floirda scarlet snake is the most common the the bunch. These snakes can be seen crossing roads at night, and seen throughout the wetlands and pine forests scattered throughout the Florida Peninsula. They are a fossorial snake, spending much of their time underground, only coming out to hunt for skinks, as well as search out skink eggs and other lizard eggs. While these snakes may look similar to milk snakes and scarlet king snakes, they have a unique facial pattern and build. They also differ from the venomous coral snake in many ways, one of which is the red bands never touch the white/yellow colors. One of the three tricolor snakes of Florida, hopefully we'll find the other two soon!
