Living hard coral cover at this site declined from ~33% in 1984 to ~6% in 2008, then downward from there to the present time. See this excellent scientific article (Lapoint et al. 2019) on the history of Looe Key, including maps and photos of the site, photos of dying corals, and data and discussion of the interactive effects of nutrient pollution on the decline in coral cover:
