A friend had a Paulownia tree blow over last summer and I removed it and brought the logs home for a bunch of projects I had in mind. Recently my niece bought a new house and wanted some floating shelves for her kitchen. So with wedges, axe and froe in hand I split out some boards and headed to the shop to make floating shelves. The hardware is from Rockler and can be found here:
