Europe is facing higher airline tickets and flight cancellations from the end of May due to lack of jet fuel, according to the International Air Transport Association.
The continent is only six weeks away from running out of fuel, the International Energy Agency has said.
Anita Mendiratta, Special Adviser to the Secretary-General of UN Tourism, told TRT World's Roundtable that the jet fuel crisis, in the wake of the Iran war, is reshaping how and where people travel.
She warns rising fuel costs are driving higher fares, creating urgency to book early as airlines pass on price increases.
Demand for flights, she says, is not stopping but shifting, with more people searching and booking different destinations.
