You get home after a shitty Monday at work and find that a guy called Alex Turner from Bloomington — not the Arctic Monkeys one — has dropped this into your inbox… You hit play almost half-heartedly while warming up some fried chicken, and then it hits you: this absolute monster. Sick! Only happens in Indiana. There are two things I really love about that state: The Heck family, and that totally singular DIY punk strain that only ever comes from there — the one someone once described as “different” and somehow got it exactly right. CCTV, Skull Cult, Liquids, Erik Nervous, GSB, Coneheads, D.L.I.M.C… and, ten years on, why not Fleon Sunoco. Remember that name — I’m pretty sure he’s going to bring a lot of joy.
