The Fleischer Studio produced a number of these animated short films where the "bouncing ball" would have audience members singing together. Here's another late-stage short from the Screen Songs series.
IN MY MERRY OLDSMOBILE: (1931) A lady is rescued from a villain by a heroic young man, who then takes her for a spin in his Oldsmobile.
IT'S EASY TO REMEMBER: (1935) Richard Himber.
LAZYBONES: (1934) 'Lazy Bones' is one of a series of shorts produced by the Fleischer studio which followed an interesting format: some typical Fleischer black-and-white animation (cartoon gags with a musical soundtrack) would book-end a live-action musical performance by some popular vaudeville act of the time. Generally, the title of the short was also the title of the tune sung by the performer.
In 'Lazy Bones', we get some indifferent cartoon gags featuring a slow-coach racehorse. Much more interesting is the live-action sequence, featuring Borrah Minevitch and his musical cohorts
