this is rather short and there is no other reason for uploading this than me being rather fucking pleased with how these parts came out xD i'm trying out my new masking tool and i'm currently listening to this song on repeat, even though this is normally not my favourite music style, but w/e, let's enjoy life

(the) void is nothing. (the) void is everything. it is a nothing that encompasses and engulfs everything.
in my previous videos, ive always included the destructive nature of the elements - the earth we return to, man vs water, fire (obvs), and the storm that a wind can become. for void, i wanted to portray the absolutely most terrifying form of destructiveness: the most final death in the form of becoming nothing. our human mind cannot comprehend the absoluteness of nothing; its lack of judgement or morality, its existing outside/above/beyond the borders of good or bad. and it is terrifying, the thought that this everything that we experience can ... disappear. into nothing.
but void is also everything. it is everything that hides in the shadows just beyond our reach; there is a reason that the human has always been afraid of the night and all that comes with it - death, monsters, something that will devour us whole.
void is the ultimate form of destruction; one that we will always fear, and can never experience.

i cannot believe this is actually done oO
the parts & pairings are sorted not by preference or anything, the one simple reason was that i a. wanted to avoid repeating characters and b. assorted pairings from similar fandoms in the same volume bc i simply did not have the space on my computer for all the footage at once :’D (vol.1 took more than 70gb, for example) so vol.1 or vol.2 is really just a matter of footage.
that being said, i actually enjoyed working on this. it was a fuckton of work, but the pairings were all delightful to edit and i want to thank you all again for suggesting them :333 *group hug*

my take on it: the body as a vessel for the human soul. how is the eternal dichotomy of grace and bloodthirst, the strife between life and death expressed in our actions, our body language, our expressions? (more or less. please try to follow the voiceovers, the music, and add your own explanation/interpretation - im not christopher nolan to force the meaning of this upon you. *love is the one thing that transcends time and space, murph! murph? murph!!*)
+ i also exclusively (except for one voiceover) used historical/fantasy fandoms.
...im extremely tired and my batterys at 6%, so the rest of this description will be short, even though i have a lot to say. (for now.)
let me say this first: this contest is gonna be awesome. there are 350 people signed up, last year was amazing, and im not likely to pass anyways (last years round 2 was sheer luck). i did find the theme quite interesting though, so i decided to take part.
the following also needs to be said, though. ive seen quite a couple of entries by now - first i didnt want to, but then i realised - no harm, no danger for me, no chance ill copy them in any way; 90% of the vidders were using the same style (action-y, sound fx, etc) and the same bloody 7-8 fandoms (dw, tw, hannibal, blindspot, aos, stoker, sherlock...). now, sure that style can be really awesome, and sure those fandoms are pretty, but where is the diversity? where is originality? there were few entries that i really found outstanding, and that i wouldnt mix up with the others. many just seemed...an attempted copy of the example video(s). why? cant be that everyone has the same style. are people trying to make the judges happy by copying their style? i have no idea.
anyways, thats my two cents.
(no im not trying to say that i should be applauded for being ~super original or anything. i am trying to say, however, that more people should maybe try to think outside of the whats-currently-en-vogue box.)")
