Manuscripts are rough. As much effort as I put into writing my novels, I do not consider the first completed manuscript to be ready for anyone else to read. That is my draft 0. What do I do to get it from "No one should ever read this" to "I like this story". That is the version I send out to beta readers, who then help me improve my story and get it up to the level that I believe is ready to be published, many drafts later. Tonight's episode is all about the initial steps to improving our manuscript.
