Rene Ritchie | Fixing Apple Child Safety Photo Scanning @ReneRitchie | Uploaded 3 years ago | Updated 2 hours ago
With Communication Safety in Messages and Image detection for iCloud Photo Library coming to the iPhone, iPad, and Mac with iOS 15, iPadOS 15, and macOS Monterey, Apple believes they’ve made the most privacy-respecting Child Safety Features in the history of… technology. That they're standing up for parents, preventing grooming and predators, and keeping the worst of the worst material off the iCloud servers.
Others believe Apple’s new system is dangerous, invasive, and… as anti-privacy as you can get. That it breaks end-to-end encryption, creates a back door into iOS, scans the photos in your messages and on your iPhone and iPad — so what happens on your iPhone no longer stays on your iPhone and privacy is no longer a human right.
So, what can be done about all this?
