A Model T oil pan has two loose horseshoe-shaped retainers that can shift when the pan is removed—making the screws nearly impossible to line up under the car. I clean the parts, assemble everything in position, and tack-weld the retainers to the pan with the ArcCaptain MIG200 so they stay where they belong for the next repair.
The engine shown is an approximately 1925 Ford Model T engine, fully disassembled for rebuilding. After this pan modification, the next step is checking clearance on the engine before sealing the pan to prevent the usual Model T oil leaks.
