In this video, I repair a broken Valmet 872. The machine is an old Valmet 872K forwarder, manufactured in 1967.

I was hauling energy wood from a neighbor’s property when the boom cylinder suddenly failed. The cylinder cap came loose, and the rod, along with the piston, came out, causing all the hydraulic oil to leak out.

To get the machine home, I first had to stop the leak. Once back, I removed the hydraulic cylinder and carried out the necessary repairs.

Real hands-on work, learning by doing, and no shortcuts.

This channel is about homestead life, DIY projects, machines, and real-world builds.
