YouTube's subscription box IS BROKEN. I've told them. You've told them. It's still broken!! FIX IT. My viewers can't see me. I can't see new videos of people to whom I've subscribed. I use the stupid named Myu2b app to solve for that, but I'm telling you... if YouTube doesn't pay attention to community then Facebook is going to copy YouTube's revenue-sharing Partner model. It's what leading tech firms do... like someone leading a yacht race, you do exactly what the #2 competitor is doing rather than innovate. That way if you're both subject to the same market/weather forces, the #2 guy can't pass you. So even though Google is #1 in a lot of things, Facebook is #1 in community. If/when Facebook starts sharing ad revenue, there will be a lot of YouTube "stars" that move away from YouTube and to Facebook... which has a lot more sharing/community functions for nurturing relationships between creators and viewers. Daneboe has cracked that with Annoying Orange.
So if YouTube keeps blowing off community (in a legitimate pursuit to become a professional content distributor and search engine of videos) then I'm going to have to figure out Facebook. And I am confused and daunted by Facebook. But YouTube is forcing me over there by blatant disregard of community.
