Season of the Haunt broke Destiny 2 respawn mechanics. The pity mechanism is all but removed, leaving you susceptible to death loops and soft locks.
So far as I can tell, this is because the "death exclusion zone" is now zero. In the past, when you died, the game would clear spawn points within a certain range, and you'd respawn at your last available respawn point outside of that range. This would prevent death loops under most circumstances. Without it's protection, you're far more likely to need to abandon an activity. It happened to me a few times in Season of the Lost, and I had to have someone join to rez me to escape from the cycle without restarting. Quite a setback when you're nearly to the boss...
Hopefully this was an oversight, and there are certainly some higher profile bugs right now, but this will harm players, particularly people trying to play activities solo.
