If you're upgrading your graphics card or dealing with weird performance drops, crashes, stutters, or driver issues, doing a proper clean GPU driver reinstall can save you a ton of headaches. I just upgraded from a 4070 Super to a 5070 Ti and walked my brother-in-law through the exact process I’ve done for years: using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to completely remove old drivers, reboot clean, and install the latest NVIDIA drivers from scratch.
I also cover another step I always do that most people skip: using CRU (Custom Resolution Utility) to delete the 4096×2160 resolution. That mode doesn’t play nicely with certain games, DLSS, or FSR, and removing it helps prevent scaling issues, incorrect fullscreen behavior, and random visual glitches.
