Spring in the UK can be brutal on young plants - late frosts, birds, and pests can wipe them out overnight.
In this video, I share 5 simple ways to protect your seedlings (plus one risky gamble !) using tried-and-tested methods that actually work.
We’ll cover when to start protecting them, how to guard against late frosts, and a few easy ways to keep birds from undoing all your hard work overnight.
I’ll also touch on companion planting, which can help naturally deter pests, and think about using nematodes to deal with the not-so-welcome visitors lurking in the soil.
These are all methods I’ve used over the years—nothing complicated, just practical things that make a real difference.
And then, of course, there’s one slightly risky gamble. It might work brilliantly, it might not—but I thought it was worth a try!
