“Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach is the latest installment of the family-friendly horror games loved by millions of players from all over the globe. Play as Gregory, a young boy trapped overnight in Freddy Fazbear’s Mega Pizzaplex. With the help of Freddy Fazbear himself, Gregory must survive the near-unstoppable hunt of reimagined Five Nights at Freddy’s characters - as well as new, horrific threats.”
After the positive reception of Help Wanted, the next game began production. First teased on FNaF’s 5th anniversary via scottgames.com and receiving many other image teasers and 4 trailers, this would quickly become FNaF’s most hyped entry in the series. This was the first time that FNaF was really going AAA. Steel Wool even had an exclusive deal with Sony where PlayStation would recieve the game first alongside PC and the other 2 consoles would get it at a later date. The hype for this game was like no other, only being matched by the FNaF 3 era. It was really shaping up to be FNaF’s greatest game.
Unfortunately, Security Breach had very troubled development. Mostly from lack of communication between Scott and Steel Wool, but also with Steel Wool continuously adding more and more to the game and bloating it. The game had to be delayed several times, and the entire original story was even completely solved by Game Theory before the game came out, resulting in the story being changed entirely. And that’s not even mentioning Scott “retiring” in the middle of 2021.
Eventually the game released at the end of 2021, and hoo boy was it a mess. Huge unnecessary initial file size, constant lag spikes and frequent crashing, the game became super controversial, not only for those reasons, but also the gameplay and story. A lot of the game is just your average free roam horror game, a real step away from what made FNaF so special. As for the story, it really divided the community because of how convoluted and crazy it was, as well is it seemingly undoing everything that FNaF 6 attempted to tie up in the Clickteam series. It was horrific and tragic.
I don’t think any FNaF game has screwed up as badly as this. It’s left a permanent stain on the series both for the previous games and everything that came after. Despite all that, while I understand and see all the flaws the game has, I still had some fun here and there. I enjoyed it more than HW, probably because this is the only Steel Wool FNaF game where non-VR is the only way to play. I’m also glad it gave Freddy the spotlight again. He’s been pushed to the side ever since FNaF 2 and it took until now for him to get a main role again (As a good guy too. What a Superstar).
Before you question anything, this *is* a full playthrough of the entire game. All endings, all collectibles, all message bags, all retro CDs, the lot.
Uber mega thanks to @Artico703 for uploading this for me. No way I could’ve uploaded this behemoth with the phone storage I have.
