Y’all hyped for the upcoming Fishman MKH Passive Customs??
They’re what I used on the new album, the last touring cycle, and will come outfitted in the upcoming Gibson and Epiphone Explorers. They’ll also of course be available standalone.
Why passive?
Passive is what we did ascendancy on actually. Way back. I feel passives accentuate the sound of the players hands; while, yes Fishman does that amazingly with their actives - the passive Fishmans even further show off the organic tone I strive for in my playing.
In a world of everyone’s tones being the same, by the same dsp, or maybe written by the same songwriter, mixed by the same mixer - I need to go the opposite way.
There is an active mode as voice 2 if you need the bite (and it rules), but I swear by the passive. There is also split coil on bridge and neck.
