This year I’m finally reading Homer’s Iliad for the first time, and this video explains how I’ll be tackling all 24 books in 24 days 📖 It’s a BookTube classics project featuring Steve Donoghue as guide, mentor, and fellow reader.

This is a quick channel announcement about an upcoming Iliad reading project. At the start of the year, I set myself a goal: this would be the year of The Iliad. With 24 books in Homer’s epic, I decided to read one book per day, completing the entire poem in just 24 days before the end of January. After chatting with my friend Steve Donoghue, we came up with a collaborative idea . Steve has read The Iliad many times, while this will be my very first reading—a true master-and-student dynamic.
📌 How the project will work:
Read six books of The Iliad
Then sit down for a discussion
Repeat the process until all 24 books are complete
Steve will act as a guide through the epic, helping unpack themes, characters, and structure along the way.
I’m really excited, right on schedule, already deep into the reading, and finding the experience absolutely fascinating. If you’ve never read The Iliad, this is the perfect time to join in. More details—including exact discussion dates—will be shared soon.
