First time hearing “A Horse With No Name” by America… and I genuinely wasn’t expecting it to feel this hypnotic. There’s something weirdly familiar about it — like a song you’ve known your whole life without ever actually listening to it properly.
Also… why does everyone keep comparing this to Neil Young’s “Harvest Moon”? And what exactly is the beef there? Because I clearly missed a chapter in classic rock history.
In this reaction I listen to America for the first time, talk about the atmosphere of the song, the desert-road-trip energy, the vocals, the strange dreamlike lyrics, and why this somehow feels both relaxing and slightly unsettling at the same time.
As an Irish girl hearing classic American rock for the first time, this one completely caught me off guard.
