Steel's Keetac facility celebrated the first shipment of direct reduced (DR)-grade pellets on May 7, 2024, following a $150 million investment to add those pellet-making capabilities to the existing operation. Construction was completed in late 2023 on time and on budget, and the first shipment met the project's stated goal of second quarter 2024.
