The previous video showed the intro to the game. Now, we have gotten into some actual gameplay of the first entire stage.
Some major changes to the gameplay system have been made. This game will be tailored for a more traditional Touhou experience instead of an arcade-focused one. That's right - no more coins. Both Classic and Breezy mode have been merged. The former gives you only 1 HP, while the latter gives you 30.
The auxiliary system also uses the system from Touhou 8: Imperishable Night. For the main focus of this game, we've all heard the phrase "the longer you wait, the worse it gets". I'm talking about the glohm substance that is a major part of this game's story. In case you don't know, glohm is a substance that originates from Mario & Luigi: Brothership and serves a similar role.
This game is not part of the Emiverse, but it is a standalone canon entry to the Drillimation Danmaku Universe. On the timeline, it takes place between the first and second Mythos of Phantasmagoria games, so it's a midquel. It is set nine months after the events of the first game.
That said, this game was first playable at the Pittsburgh Anime Fest last weekend, and will again be playable at the Niagara Falls Anime Fest next month. If you're going, don't forget to stop by my booth if you want to play it.
