Documentary Tools 2 expands PremiumVFX’s documentary toolkit for Final Cut Pro with new lower thirds, cinematic titles, screen layouts, overlays, LUTs, camera movements, tools, and transitions.
In this First Look, I use the collection to build a true-crime documentary trailer, beginning with Screen 01 and Lower Third 02 before adding Drop Frame Zoom, Smooth Sliding, Hand Camera, Prism Distortion, Flicker, Film Burn, and LUT 06 - Nostalgic.
You’ll also see how the templates can be customized with typography, paper elements, markers, drop zones, color treatments, Glow, Drop Shadow, 3D Extrude, Grain, and Vignette. I finish the sequence with story-driven titles, a redacted document effect, and built-in transitions to carry one cohesive visual language from the opening evidence through the final interview.
Whether you’re cutting an investigative report, interview-led documentary, or true-crime story, Documentary Tools 2 helps you carry a consistent cinematic style across the edit.
