In a session with Polar Signals, a Kubernetes 1.28.4 cluster (Talos 1.5.5, Linux kernel 6.1.61) is being explored from a CPU profiling perspective.
With a single kubectl apply, data collection begins revealing CPU usage details via the Parca Agent which communicates with the Polar Signals Cloud. Initially, only CPU samples are collected, with further configurations needed to gather memory and IO data. This requires deploying the Parca Server in scraper mode and running a compatible runtime for exporting profiles.
Analysis of the data uncovers interesting CPU usage by specific processes, indicating potential areas for optimization.
