Wandering on Nose Hill with Karen, on April 26th, looking for the first crocus blooms. Last year's growth, revealed from beneath the heavy snow that has finally melted, is dry and brittle. In spite of the seeming emptiness, on closer inspection, new growth and the first crocuses reveal themselves.
