"When I was a kid my favorite, favorite thing to do after school was to go up to our local library once a week where the other kids and I would kick off our shoes, grab a cup of apple juice or maybe a graham cracker and settle in to listen to our local children’s librarian read to us from novels. Together over the course of an hour a week, we would make our way through an entire book. It was the most magical time to listen to her read aloud. So I wanted to thank those of you who are librarians, particularly librarians for kids. Thank you for all you do to encourage kids’ love of reading, their love of storytelling, and to encourage their curiosity about the world.
