We have seen many cops try to refuse public records by saying that it's a private matter or that there's personal information they're protecting but these are violations of the Florida Sunshine Law 119.01. If there is some sensitive information about the call they can still give us the call number and the records department will redact any sensitive information. When you ask a cop what their name is and they refuse to give it, it' not only a policy violation but also a violation of that same law. These cops need to stop acting like they're in the CIA at war with and spying on citizens.
