Is firewood a product or a byproduct?
We get asked a lot about how to get more money for your firewood. We always hear "I can't charge that much" or "there's a guy down the road selling for less"
A lot of this comes down to mentality. You are more than welcome to try and compete with the fellow selling wood for the bottom dollar. Or you can think of your firewood as a "product" and sell to and service the clients that are actually going to pay you what it is worth.
There are lots of great examples of this all around us. Take bottled water for example. The water doesnt cost that much if anything at all, but you are more than willing to pay for the packaging and convenience.
let us know how you look at firewood whether it be a product you produce or just a byproduct of your business. There's not really a right or a wrong here guys, but if you switch your mentality you may be surprised how much profit there is to be made!
