Firestore Stream with Provider
In the previous video we covered how to use an authentication stream throughout your app, but that wasn't too obvious why a stream was necessary since we weren't corrupting our auth state.
So here we show off how useful streams can really be. Here we see the data get updated live from firebase, as soon as it is added to the database. We also use provider for this so we can access this one stream from our whole app. Although provider might not be necessary for the exact implementation we made here, it can definitely be useful in other use cases. For example, if we wanted to show only the most recent 3 books, that were added, and then when we click we can see all of them.
Streams are a super important thing to understand. If you want to make a messaging app, its essential and any other app that you want to see information updated live. I still have a bit to learn about streams, but this is the basics.
