Firefighters from Beacon Hose Co. No. 1 used a ladder to rescue 19 people and one dog trapped in a restaurant on Sunday. Connecticut is in a state of emergency as record rainfall has destroyed homes and businesses, killed at least two people, and left hundreds displaced.
