FIRE stands for Financial Independence Retire Early. The FIRE movement focuses on saving and investing a large chunk of your annual income in order to gain financial independence prior to normal retirement age (65yo here in the US). Retiring early does not necessarily mean that you do not work anymore - it simply means that you don't NEED to work, and you have the freedom and stability to pursue projects that you are passionate about.
