...I had a branch I trimmed off one of the cacao trees in the garden that I'd dried & wanted to see if it would work for the fire plough.
.
...There wasn't enough to make a complete set but I managed to fashion a blade to try on a Malayan cherry hearth. It took three attempts but in the end I managed to coax out  a strong ember with it. If I can find a big enough piece for the hearth  I feel confident this would work on It's own but still good to know it will work as a combination.
